Social Program
The social program includes an optional dinner Thursday August 18th at Restaurant Tarv, which is a newly-opened grill house located by the larger of the two harbours in Tórshavn. The restaurant serves deliciously grilled meat and locally caught fish.
Friday August 19th the participants are invited on a 2 hour boat tour to Vestmanna Seacliffs, where we are sailing through narrow sounds and into deep grottoes, carved by the surf through ages. The cliffs shoot over 600 metres straight up in the air and thousands of seabirds have their home here in the summer. In the midst of this magnificent North Atlantic nature, man feels indeed very inferior, and you will understand, why Faroese culture is so deeply rooted in respect for the forces of nature. The meeting ends Saturday with a gala dinner a Hotel Føroya, where the winners of the oral poster presentation competition will be announced.
The social program will be offered at cost rate and are optional, but we highly recommend each of the events. Gala dinner is included in the registration.
