Letter from European Association for Osseointegration:
The term “osseointegration” was coined by Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark. He was also among the group that initiated the foundation of our association: European Association for Osseointegration, EAO. May 3 is the birthday of P-I Brånemark, thus a natural date to recognize osseointegration.
At this first event we have the pleasure of releasing a webinar by Professor Tomas Albrektsson, a world renowned scientist in the implant field and also a early disciple of P-I Brånemark.
Our tentative plans are to annually at the 3rd of May release unique material that puts the history of osseointegration in perspective.
This initiative has been realized in co-operation between EAO, ABOC (Associated Brånemark Osseointegration Centers) and ACD (American College of Prostodontists).
